FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PA FARM BUREAU ASKS MEMBERS TO PERJURE THEMSELVES TO LAWMAKERS.
Darrin Youker issues an immediate request of the non-farmer associate members to commit the act of perjury and misidentify themselves to Pennsylvania lawmakers via their website Act Now Oppose Sunday Hunting Campaign automated form. The first line reads “As a farmer, I'm deeply concerned about Senate Bill 147 and the efforts to allow for Sunday hunting. As your constituent, I am asking you to VOTE NO on Senate Bill 147”.
Darrin Youker, Director of Government Affairs, Pa. Farm Bureau states in Oppose Sunday Hunting Expansion Facebook video “It is important that all of us within the organization take time to participate in this action request.” https://www.facebook.com/PennsylvaniaFarmBureau/videos/326644847985844/
Why would Pa. Farm Bureau autocrats ask 39,357 non-farmer associate members that have no input or any voting rights at the very start for PFB policy development processes to take action on this initiative or any other?
From the start these 39,357 non-farmer members obviously are not important enough, their voices and concerns do not matter when policies are being developed and considered; if they did then they would be included in the PFB policy development process, not just an innocent bystander.
Questions for Pa. Farm Bureau Autocrats:
Why does this non-farmer/non-voting membership count and matter now?
Why misrepresent them to Pa. legislators?
Why give the stated impression “It is your right and your privilege as a member of this organization to steer our policy and then help us achieve those victories in Pa. General Assembly” to 63% of PFB membership that is ignored and not allowed to participate from the start?
Why should they participate in this immoral request without editing by entering their name, contact information, and address; then hitting send message ending with “I'm a farmer, I'm a landowner and I'm opposed to Sunday hunting. I'm asking you to vote NO on Senate Bill 147”.
To all lawmakers. This PFB Act Now Oppose Sunday Hunting Expansion email/call-in campaign should not be trusted. The Pa. Farm Bureau has set it up as another bravado campaign that misrepresents their organization. Don’t allow the paper tiger to fool you!
Pa. Farm Bureau advertising display shows actual membership as of November 2018. The image breaks down the total membership. Regular members/farmers that can vote on Pa. Farm Bureau issues and Associate members/non-farmer who have no voting authority at all.
Why is Pa. Farm Bureau autocracy using its members this way?
Should we trust Pa. Farm Bureau? Do they truly represent their rank and file members?
Why is Pa. Farm Bureau holding their members, hunters, farmers, landowners, and wildlife conservation hostage?
