I AM A QUADRIPLEGIC - SUNDAY HUNTING WOULD HELP

February 11, 2019

My name is Greg Traynor and I am a hunter with a disability (Quadriplegic). I was injured in a diving accident in 1999 at the age of 31.  After my injury, it took me 10 years to get strong enough to be able to go hunting again. In those 10 years I returned to college and received my Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Pittsburgh.

In 2010 I started Accessible Hunter, to provide information on hunting and shooting for people with significant disabilities. At the time, there was very little information online for people who wanted to go hunting and required some type of assistive technology.

Over the past 20 years it’s been my goal to encourage and support anyone who wants to participate in the outdoors. I believe legalizing Sunday hunting in Pennsylvania would be very beneficial to hunters with disabilities. Adding Sunday hunting, would add an additional day for people to volunteer their time assisting individuals with disabilities or people who require assistance in the outdoors.

Thank you for any consideration in legalizing Sunday hunting in Pennsylvania.

Sincerely yours,
Greg Traynor, MS
